If you plan to attend a four-year college or university right after finishing high school, you must be "A - G" ready, and you need to take college placement tests—either the ACT or the SAT no later than December of your senior year.

If you plan to attend a two-year community college after finishing high school, you will need to take an assessment test given by the community college. It is a placement test to determine your starting classes for math and English. Community Colleges start accepting applications in March for incoming freshmen.

Apply for FAFSA between OCTOBER 1st and March 2nd of your senior year. Go to Fafsa.ed.gov to start your application.
